August 2026, wave 3
MCP server, API on every paid plan & speaker detection on Pro
  • NoticeThe monthly minutes included in each paid plan change on 1 October 2026, Starter goes from 300 to 120 minutes a month, Pro from 1,300 to 360, Business from 7,500 to 2,000. Prices do not change: Starter stays $4.99, Pro $14.99, Business $79.99. The maximum length of a single file does not change either, 8 minutes on Starter, 35 minutes on Pro, 5 hours on Business, and neither do the monthly AI allowances. If you subscribed before 25 August 2026, you keep your current minutes until the billing period that starts on or after 1 October, so nothing you have already paid for is cut short. Subscriptions taken out from today run on the new allowance right away. See the plans.
  • NewConnect your AI assistant to Dokitscript, Dokitscript now runs an MCP server at dokitscript.com/mcp. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant or code editor can submit a URL for transcription, read a transcript, list or search your history, and ask a question about a transcript, without you leaving your tool. It signs in with your existing API key and follows the same plan limits as the web app, plus a daily cap per key so an agent stuck in a loop cannot spend your month overnight. See how to set it up.
  • NewThe API is open to every paid plan, The public API was reserved for Business. Starter and Pro can now use it, and the MCP server with it. Starter and Pro run on API token packs, Business keeps API usage included in the subscription. Read the API docs.
  • ImprovedSpeaker detection on Pro, Speaker detection is no longer Business only. Pro transcribes interviews, podcasts and calls split by speaker (A / B / C), at no extra cost.
  • ImprovedAI usage is counted per tool, and the cost is shown before you run one, Every AI tool used to draw the same amount from your monthly allowance, whatever it cost to produce. Each one now draws what it costs: a social caption and the four research tools count as one, a rewrite two, a summary, key points or a translation three, chapters five, a blog post nine. Your account page lists the cost next to each tool, and greys out the ones your remaining allowance no longer covers. The allowances themselves are unchanged, 3 a month on Free, 20 on Starter, 60 on Pro, 250 on Business. If you subscribed before 25 August 2026, your allowance keeps counting one unit per tool until the billing period that starts on or after 1 October 2026.
  • ImprovedSix-digit codes validate themselves, The code sent at sign-up and the two-factor code are checked as soon as the sixth digit is typed or pasted. There is no button to press. Two-factor recovery codes keep their own field and are never sent automatically.
  • FixTwo-factor sign-in failed on six language versions, Confirming a two-factor code returned a server error on six of the twelve language versions of the sign-in page, locking the account holder out with no message. It works on all twelve.
  • FixQuota after cancelling a paid plan, Minutes already transcribed and paid for on a subscription were counted a second time against the free limit once the subscription was cancelled, which could block an account until the first of the next month. Your quota window now follows your subscription history instead of restarting on the calendar month.
  • FixUploading from the Arabic and Hindi pages, The transcribe button did not respond at all on eight Arabic and Hindi pages, and those pages rejected file formats the product accepts. Both are fixed.
  • FixTikTok photo slideshows say what they are, Pasting a TikTok photo slideshow answered "use a TikTok link" to a TikTok link. The message now names the real reason and the way out, save the slideshow as a video from TikTok and upload the file. The refusal costs you nothing, no transcription and no quota are used.

AI workspace, prices in your currency & limits that match your plan
  • ImprovedA real workspace for the 11 AI tools, The AI tools used to sit behind a small grey button. They now open in a side panel, grouped by what you came to do, Understand, Publish and Verify. Your remaining monthly allowance is on screen the whole time, results you already generated are listed by name so you never pay for the same one twice, and free accounts reach the panel instead of a blurred card.
  • ImprovedPrices in your own currency, Plans are shown in euro, pound, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, real, yen, won, peso or dirham where we can bill in it, and in dollars everywhere else. Amounts are the real prices in that currency, not a conversion of the dollar price. Visitors in Europe outside the eurozone were reading dollars and now read euro.
  • ImprovedThe pricing page follows your plan, The highlighted plan used to be Starter for everyone, including subscribers already above it. It now highlights the move that fits your subscription, and never puts a downgrade forward. The first-month discount is only shown to accounts that can still claim it.
  • ImprovedThe plan we recommend covers the video you pasted, A video too long for your plan used to point at the next plan up, even when that plan refused the same video. The recommendation is now the plan that actually covers the length, and the upgrade window opens with the video duration, the plan needed and its price. Past five hours, no plan is offered.
  • FixLength limits are checked before the upload, with your real limits, Some pages still carried old caps and blocked Business at one hour instead of five and Pro at 25 minutes instead of 35. Annual subscribers were refused files their plan accepts. Every page now uses the limits the server applies, so a file that will be refused is refused before it is uploaded, not after.
  • FixSearching your history is free, The search box on the History page took one unit of your monthly AI allowance every time you paused typing. A new account could burn its whole free allowance searching an empty history. Search never called an AI model and never should have been counted, it is free.
  • FixShortened AI results stay marked as shortened, When a transcript is too long to be analysed in one pass, the answer covers part of the text and a notice says so. Re-opening a saved result dropped that notice and showed a partial analysis as a complete one. The notice is now stored with the result.

Status page accuracy
  • FixThe status page reported platforms as down while they worked, The health check tried a single download route. When that route failed and a backup route was serving transcriptions normally, TikTok and Instagram were still shown as down on the status page. The check now tries the same routes a real transcription uses, and only reports an outage when every one of them fails.
