Research AI, richer exports, PWA & history improvements
  • NewResearch AI — Fact-check, Learn more, Find sources — Powered by Perplexity. One click to cross-check any claim in your transcript against live web sources, with numbered citations.
  • NewCustom Q&A on any transcript — Ask any question about the video and get an AI answer sourced from the web in real time.
  • NewInstall as a mobile app (PWA) — Dokitscript can now be added to your phone's home screen. Works on Android and iPhone — no App Store required.
  • NewShare directly from TikTok / Instagram / YouTube (Android) — After installing the app, tap Share in any video app and select Dokitscript. The URL is sent automatically and transcription starts immediately.
  • NewCopy with timestamps — Export a transcript with each segment prefixed by its timestamp ([MM:SS]) for easy video navigation.
  • NewMarkdown export (.md) — Download any transcript as a clean Markdown file with metadata (platform, date, language, duration, word count).
  • NewJSON export — Full machine-readable export including all segments, timestamps, language, platform and word count — useful for developers and researchers.
  • ImprovedAI responses now render formatting — Bold, bullet lists, numbered lists and headers from AI outputs are now displayed as styled HTML instead of raw Markdown symbols.
  • ImprovedKeyword search in history — Search your transcriptions by content directly from the History page. Results are filtered server-side with instant debounced updates.
  • ImprovedInline transcript editing — Fix typos or edit your transcript directly in the History page without leaving the app.

Security, 2FA and smarter error handling
  • NewTwo-factor authentication (2FA) — Secure your account with Google Authenticator or any TOTP app. Includes 8 one-time backup codes.
  • NewGoogle OAuth login — Sign in or register with your Google account in one click. Plan selection is preserved through the OAuth flow.
  • NewForgot password — Reset your password by email with a secure time-limited token.
  • ImprovedSmarter video error messages — Private, age-restricted, geo-blocked, members-only, deleted and copyright-blocked videos now return specific error messages instead of a generic failure.
  • ImprovedAudio file compression — Files larger than 25 MB are automatically compressed before transcription so you never hit the AI engine's size limit.
  • SecurityAtomic quota counters — All transcription and credit counters use database-level atomic operations, preventing race conditions under concurrent usage.
  • SecurityAnti-abuse fingerprinting — Anonymous usage is tracked by IP + device fingerprint to prevent VPN abuse on the free tier.
