Common questions

What is an SRT file?
SRT (SubRip Subtitle) is the most widely supported subtitle format. It contains numbered subtitle entries with start/end timestamps and the text for each subtitle line. Every major video editor and platform supports SRT.
How do I use the SRT file in video editors?
In Premiere Pro: sequence menu → Captions → Import. In DaVinci Resolve: right-click on timeline → Add Subtitle Track. In CapCut: tap "Text" → "Auto captions" or import your SRT. In YouTube Studio: upload the SRT under "Subtitles" for your video.
Is the SRT output properly formatted?
Yes. Dokitscript outputs standard SRT format: sequential index numbers, timestamps in HH:MM:SS,mmm→HH:MM:SS,mmm format, subtitle text, blank line separator. It works with all major editors without modification.
Can I edit the SRT before downloading?
Yes. After transcription, you can edit any text directly in the Dokitscript interface before exporting the SRT file.
